When we planned it we could not have foreseen what our work environments were going to be like and because of some struggles that were happening with my job, as well as a few other things that don't warrant mentioning here, I felt a little flat.
Tiz's company with her upbeat views, the warm sunshine and just "being on hols" did have a good effect nonetheless.
We got to spend time with Tiz's mum, Lidia, and experienced how an octogenarian widow spends a little piece of winter escaping from Melbourne to a warmer climate. I don't think I want to do that at that age.
I'd forgotten what the Gold Coast was like as a holiday destination.
It has much to offer the right people. I am not one of those people.
We caught up with Fee, which was a real treat.
Melbourne could do with a, or many, "Nightquarter".
I think we might avoid it as a stop gap measure for a holiday in the future.
Now it's time to look forward to a big more lengthy adventure.
